What To Expect:
Papua New Guinea Travel Tour Highlights
The Panorama Show is a fully escorted program that can only be offered on a join-in group basis with shared transfers and touring throughout the entire duration of the itinerary. Private services are not available during this busy season and dates are predetermined to coincide with the annual Mount Hagen Cultural Show. This tour begins with a night in Port Moresby. The following day, you will travel to Mount Hagen for the spectacular Mt. Hagen Show. Enjoy two full days taking in the sights and sounds of the show’s sing-sing groups, all of whom reflect the diversity of Papua New Guinea’s cultures and traditions. Nothing will prepare you for the beauty and natural wonder of the Highlands Region—the rolling mountainous terrain is at once breathtaking, thrilling and serene. Next, travel to Karawari for a night spent in a remote lodge overlooking the Karawari River. From here, fly to Timbunke to board a three-night cruise on the Sepik River. This comprehensive cruise explores the Sepik villages and their spectacular haus tambaran spirit houses. Each village along the Sepik sells distinctive tribal goods and artifacts, and many villages welcome visitors by performing a sing sing (traditional dance and musical performance). Continue to Tari in the Southern Highlands, home to the Huli people. Spend two nights at Ambua Lodge, a deluxe wilderness property that serves as your base for exploring high mountain forests with roaring waterfalls and for visiting the Huli Wigmen villages. For your final night in PNG, return to Port Moresby with some touring of this South Pacific capital city.
