What To Expect:
Explorers Club Trip Tour Highlights
Over the course of twelve days, your search for the penguin colonies along New Zealand’s coastline will introduce you to the country from an entirely unique perspective. Beginning in the largest city of the South Island, Chirstchurch, you’ll wind through the scenic countryside, stopping along the way for encounters with the lovable, native Little Blue Penguins. As you traverse land and sea, you’ll enjoy boat excursions to see the rare and endangered Hector’s dolphin, fur seals, elephant seals, albatross and yellow-eyed penguins. You’ll hike the extinct Akaroa volcano, stay in the architecturally pleasing town of Dunedin, visit the protected habitat of the endangered White-Flippered Penguins, view the mysterious, six million year old Moeraki boulders, and learn the daily routine at a penguin hospital. Between penguin spotting, snorkeling, kayaking, sailing, museum visits, and city touring will leave you having had the ultimate New Zealand experience.
