Start your tour of Ecuador in the Andean highlands north of Quito. Stay on a charming colonial working farm where you can enjoy authentic home-style cooking and a range of activities. Explore the Otavalo region with your private guide and driver and stop at the famous Otavalo Indian Market to shop a variety of textiles, carvings, leather goods, and other crafts. Continue on to Quito and spend two nights in this high-altitude metropolis. Explore the colonial architecture of Old Town, take a trip to the Equatorial Monument, and visit important landmarks such as Independence Plaza, the Presidential Palace, and the Church of San Francisco. Transfer then to Baltra and fly to the Galapagos for a four-night stay in the highlands of Santa Cruz Island. Spend your first afternoon exploring Santa Cruz, and enjoy the next two days on excursions to nearby islands—you can choose from North Seymour, Bartolome, Plazas, Santa Fe, Floreana, or Isabela. Each island has its particular natural habitat and you will be guided through the evolutionary marvels of your destination. In addition to up close experiences with iconic wildlife such as giant tortoises, boobies, and marine iguanas, you will also be able to snorkel off the boat in the second largest marine reserve in the world. On your third full day on the island you will have a guided tour through the most spectacular features of Santa Cruz. Head back to Guayaquil on your final morning and spend the day relaxing at luxury hotel in this tropical city before transferring back to the airport for an evening departure.
