Arrive in San Jose for a night in a turn-of-the-century mansion before continuing to Tortuguero, where you will check in to a fabulous tropical bungalow for a two-night stay. Take private boat tours through the canals of Tortuguero National Park, one of the most important environments in the Caribbean; the park is home to four species of sea turtles along with many other rare and elusive animals including sloths, manatees, tapirs, and jaguars. Head then to the Pacuare River, where you will embark on an exciting river rafting tour to get to your hotel. Here you will enjoy a two-night stay at Costa Rica’s premier eco-lodge set amidst 740 acres of protected rainforest. Enjoy a day of activities at the lodge and set off for La Paz after another white water rafting adventure the following day. Check out the famous La Paz Waterfall and see an array of colorful species at the butterfly and hummingbird gardens. Transfer next to the town of Monteverde, where you can enjoy the wilds of the cloud forest and relaxation at the hotel’s lovely facilities. The following day will be full of adventure in Selvatura Park where you can glide through the canopy by zip line or stroll gorgeous suspended bridges and treetop walkways. Continue north to Rincón de la Vieja Volcano National Park to enjoy three nights in the mountains; horseback riding, zip lining, hot springs, and mud baths are just a few of the activities you will enjoy here. Next you take another three-night stay, this time at Manuel Antonio National Park in an awesome resort perched high above the sweeping Central Pacific coastline. Enjoy a few days of fun and relaxation sunbathing or searching the park for sloths, iguanas, and monkeys; you can also enjoying snorkeling and kayaking tours in Biezans Bay. Take a final day at the spa or on the beach, then head to San Jose for your flight home.
