Ghana Travel Tour Highlights
This tour offers an incredible foray into Ghana. Begin in Accra, the colorful and modern capital city and where the movements for an independent Africa began. Tour the city to get a feel for its past and modern lives with visits to the African Arts Alliance to see modern African art to the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum to learn about the first president of the country. The next day, experience Ghana’s colonial past with visits to some of the most well-preserved European forts in African and visit the W.E.B Dubois museum to learn about the Pan-African movement in Ghana. From Accra set out to Elmina on the southern coast, where you will see the impressive Elmina Castle, a UNESCO Heritage Site. The following morning you will have the chance to enjoy Ghana’s natural wonders with a trip to the Kakum National park. Here you can walk the canopy walkway, the highest of its kind is West Africa, as well as see crocodiles, birds, and monkeys. Set out the next morning for the Ashanti region, famous for Adinkra printing, carving, and the famous Kente cloth. You will also have to opportunity to better understand African skills such as weaving palm wine tapping, and traditional farming. The following morning, set off for a visit to the Manyiah Palace, the seat of the Ashanti kingdom and the Kumasi Fort and Military Museum which features artifacts from the British-Ashanti war of 1900! That evening, after your last delicious Ghanaian meal, head to the airport for your departing international flight.
