Hotel B is Lima’s answer to a luxury boutique property, and it appeals everyone from art enthusiasts and history buffs to in-the-know trendsetters. Once the summer retreat for President Augusto Leguía, the mansion has joined the the Relais & Châteaux collection of hotels, undergoing a major transformation while keeping its distinguished Roaring 20’s vibe. Lima’s first luxury boutique hotel is a result of years of painstakingly detailed restoration that has been thrown into this formerly abandoned mansion. Peruvian heritage and culture permeate the space, but the house has been reintroduced with a cool twist.
Set in the heart of the bohemian neighborhood of Barranco, Hotel B is surrounded by buzzing bars, trendy restaurants, posh galleries, and Peruvian heritage—a bohemian rhapsody of sorts. Even next door is a renowned art house Lucia de la Puente Gallery, with its own secret door to the property. In its first year, they are a Relais & Chateaux property. Original details such as marble terraces, intricate door handles, ornate façade, and sky-high ceilings give the property a sense of time and place, while modern touches like a three story contemporary building with additional rooms, heated plunge pool, vertical garden, and rooftop terrace that overlooks the Pacific that is perfect for cocktails, ups the ante for luxury travelers.
