One of our very favorite properties in Delhi, the Imperial Hotel is like the stately grande dame of the city: elegant, glamorous, and much respected. Built in 1933, it has a somewhat unconventional architecture that melds Victorian and British colonial influences with a splash of Art Deco style thrown in for good measure.
The façade is crisp and white, and the entrance is lined with imported palm trees, lending it a dose of Hollywood splendor. Guest rooms and suites are perfectly appointed, with Indian art and colonial touches, and a swimming pool, fitness center, and numerous restaurants and bars are available for guests to use. An important feature of the hotel is its location: shopping, museums, and other sights are only a short walk away.
