Clayoquot Wilderness Resort
A 30-minute boat ride from the village of Tofino in Vancouver, Clayoquot Wilderness Resort is a remote eco-lodge that defines rustic luxury. Also accessible by private scenic seaplane, Clayoquot is open exclusively from mid-May until late September and offers just twenty deluxe tents for a private and intimate outdoor experience. Clayoquot Sound is a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve and the surrounding area is densely packed with wildlife including black bears, stellar seals, and humpback whales. Daily wilderness activities are highly customized for each guest so they can personally design adventures each day depending on their energy level and interests.
Horseback riding, kayaking, whale watching, fishing, hiking, shooting, and day trips to Flores Island are but a few of the many choices available; there is also an eco-spa—Healing Grounds, with three massage tents, two treatment rooms, an outdoor shower, and wrap-around sundecks. Nearby, the Cookhouse serves gourmet regional fare from the farms and fishermen of the Canadian coast. There are twelve luxury ensuite bathroom tents equipped with a king-size bed, in-floor heating, and indoor/outdoor showers. An additional eight deluxe outpost tents are connected by cedar boardwalks under a rainforest canopy.
