Waldorf Astoria Beijing
This 176-room tour de force of luxury is the second Waldorf Astoria to open in China. Designed to appear as a glistening golden jewel box from the outside, the interior is smart, sophisticated, and sleekly tailored.Although decidedly modern, traditional Asian craftsmanship techniques sing through the details including silk paneled walls, gleaming black lacquered doors, and a rich palette of teal and persimmon. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out over the city’s central Wangfujing shopping district and swaths of red-tiled hutong roofs. Modern amenities including Apple TVs, iPod docks, tablet controlled lighting, curtains and TV, Ferragamo bath products, and Japanese style toilets ensure a more-than comfortable stay. The three restaurants and lounges offer an array of cuisines from Cantonese and Beijing delicacies to continental fare. The fully equipped Fitness Center, pool, and spa help guests look and feel their best.
