The Temple House
Neighboring the Chengdu Daci Temple in the heart of the city, The Temple House is built around the concept of contrast: sleek, modern interiors of floor-to-ceiling windows and contemporary furnishings merge with historical details such as Bitieshi, the restored Qing dynasty courtyard that is integral to the property. The courtyard’s original brick, wood carvings, timber ceilings and floors, step stones, overhanging roofs and flying eaves are flanked by four contemporary towers in the traditional Chinese quadrant layout. Once inside the newly constructed towers, the design is optimized to create a sense of open space and fluidity. In the spa and wellness center you will find tiered ceilings of concentric circles and glass walls. The rooms are similarly airy with open floor plans, huge windows that reflect on mirrored walls, and light-colored furnishings. Enjoy the four restaurants that range from a Teahouse to the sophisticated Tivano.
