Okonjima Guest Lodge
Set amidst the Omboroko Mountains, near the Waterburg Plateau, Okonjima is a unique property, and the center of the Africat Foundation. This family-run property is well known for its warm, relaxed atmosphere. Each of the ten en suite rooms is set around a lovely garden.
Guests enjoy the natural beauty of the area, and the opportunity to learn about the Africat Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and protection of Namibia’s endangered big cats, such as cheetah and leopards. Hides offer superb photo opportunities, and the chance to see most of the Namibian endemic bird species. Relax around the pool, or enjoy guided walking tours that introduce you to the area – these include the opportunity to try your hand at San desert survival skills, such as making fire, and traps. Meals are enhanced with fresh herbs and home made bread, and are enjoyed either indoors or around a fire.
