American Prairie Reserve
The American Prairie Reserve is truly one of our country’s greatest conservation projects—a link to the natural world on a scale that we haven’t experienced since the 19th century, and a chance to help recreate and restore the largest wildlife reserve in the lower forty-eight states. National Geographic has called the American Prairie Reserve “one of the most ambitious conservation projects in history.” When completed, this three and a half million acre reserve in Montana will provide a wildlife spectacle that rivals the Serengeti, an awe-inspiring place for you to explore and a national treasure for generations to come.
Absolute Travel has a longstanding commitment to wildlife conservation, environmental awareness, and responsible tourism that naturally aligns with American Prairie Reserve. We are incredibly proud to support their mission to connect travelers to the breathtaking wild world of the American Great Plains and find something bigger than themselves. Through a visit to the American Prairie Reserve’s Kestrel Camp with Absolute Travel, travelers are able to have an insider’s look into one of America’s last wild places. It’s our privilege to help protect this region of restored nature by enabling others to enjoy it, and consequently be motivated to protect it.
“By partnering with Absolute Travel, we are able to bring adventurists and wildlife enthusiasts to the forefront of grassland conservation and strengthen our mission to create a world-class nature reserve that’s accessible for modern day explorers and future generations.” -Sean Gerrity, President of American Prairie Reserve.
About the American Prairie Reserve
Imagine a grassland reserve of hundreds of thousands of acres–a wildlife spectacle that rivals the Serengeti and an awe-inspiring place for you and your children to explore. Imagine helping to build a national treasure. The mission of American Prairie Reserve is to create and manage a prairie-based wildlife reserve that, when combined with public lands already devoted to wildlife, will protect a unique natural habitat, provide lasting economic benefits and improve public access to and enjoyment of the prairie landscape.
The Reserve is already comprised of hundreds of thousands of acres and provides visitors with incredible wildlife viewing, outstanding scenery, and a true sense of the wide open. The goal is to create the largest wildlife reserve in the continental United States, that will provide critical habitat for a variety of species, offering those lucky enough to experience it a wildlife spectacle unlike anything in North America.
