DAY 1: ARRIVE SINGAPORE Upon arrival in Singapore, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a three-night stay. The balance of the day is free to explore this dynamic city at your leisure. DAY 2: SINGAPORE This morning your driver and guide will meet you for a private half-day tour that traces the history of Singapore, beginning at the Singapore History Museum and continuing to the narrow, bustling streets of Little India and the old European Quarter. Visit the Thian Hock Keng Temple in Chinatown, ascend Mount Faber for a panoramic view of the city, and make a final stop at the world-renowned Botanical Gardens. The afternoon is free at leisure. Tonight, go on a night safari to see the wildlife of Singapore. The nature park you visit was the first in the world specifically designed to be visited at night. It allows unparalleled access to nocturnal animals; among the creatures you might see up close are leopards, flying fox fruit bats, tigers, and, if you are lucky, the elusive giant anteater. By tram and by foot, you will have the opportunity to view over 110 exotic species that roam the lush grounds. (B) DAY 3: SINGAPORE Today enjoy a full day of flexible private touring in Singapore. You may wish to visit more museums, the many ethnic neighborhoods, local wet and dry markets, and observe the bustling shopping scene along Orchard Road. The many Quay areas are enjoyable spots to relax with coffee or a snack. An enjoyable day of touring might begin with a walk through a spice garden at Fort Canning Park, followed by an introduction to a typical Peranakan house and fascinating nonya culture. You might also wish to continue on to a market and join the locals as they haggle and scout out the best and freshest produce. If you wish, your guide can take you to meet with an herbalist in Chinatown where you will gain insight into the traditional concepts of yin and yang in Chinese health and cuisine. (B) DAY 4: DEPART SINGAPORE Today you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight. (B) |
