| This eight-day introductory tour features Israel’s main attractions and is a good start for those making their first trip to the country. Begin in the modern metropolis of Tel Aviv, where you will visit a few of its ethnic neighborhoods and stroll through Carmel Market, a tempting feast for the senses. Drive to Tiberias, with stops along the way at Caesarea to see the important Crusader ruins, the modern port city of Haifa, and a visit to the mosques and Old City of Akko along the way. From a base in Tiberias, explore the Church of the Annunciation in Nazareth and then Capernaum; the following day, see the Dead Sea and the ruins of Massada as well as the Qumran caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Continue on by road to Jerusalem, the cultural and spiritual heart of Israel. Two full days allow ample time to explore the Old City and the New Jerusalem, as well as important highlights like Mt. Olive and Bethlehem. | |||
