| Appreciate the beauty of Australia’s northern region with two weeks of focused touring and in-depth exploration. Begin in Sydney, where you’ll enjoy a guided tour of the city's most interesting cultural highlights and a day tour to the majestic Blue Mountains. From Sydney, head to Seven Spirit Bay, a unique wilderness lodge in the Gurig National Park in Aboriginal Arnhemland. A deeply spiritual region for the Aborigines accessible to outsiders only with a permit, guests will undoubtedly consider it a privilege to be granted access to the area. After Seven Spirit Bay, enjoy a day of touring on Bathurst Island in the Tiwi Islands before returning by charter flight to Darwin for a night. Board the Ghan train the following day for your journey through the desert to Alice Springs, the main town in the Red Centre. The following two nights will be spent in the Aboriginal community of Titjikala in deluxe tented accommodations, where you will have the chance to gather bush tucker, visit the local art center, and get a first-hand introduction to life in the outback. After this unique experience, transfer to Ayers Rock, the famous formation that Aborigines know as the sacred “Uluru,” and the Olgas, also known as “Kata Tjuta.” Your time at Ayers Rock and the Olgas presents a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the environment; tours of the region are designed to give you the most authentic experience possible in two nights. | |||
