| Patagonia is the region at the lower tip of South America, and its magnificent beauty has attracted adventure-seekers for centuries. Begin with a three-night stay in Buenos Aires, where touring highlights include the various historical neighborhoods of the city, a cruise along the Delta, a tango show, and a daytrip to a charming town in neighboring Uruguay. Next, fly to Bariloche, where you will begin your touring of Patagonia. Bariloche is known as the Lake District and is full of snow-capped mountains, alpine forests, and some of Argentina's most breathtaking scenery. Enjoy a boat ride on the pristine Nahuel Huapi Lake and visit the ancient forests of Victoria Island. From Bariloche, fly to El Calafate, where you will spend two days touring the glaciers that creep down the sides of mountains and along valleys. From El Calafate, drive overland to El Chaltén for a two-night stay. Spend a full day visiting the picture-perfect Fitz Roy Mountain, a must for anyone who truly wants to really discover Patagonia. Finally, return by road to El Calafate and fly to Puerto Madryn for a three-night stay. Spend the next two days viewing whales, penguins, dolphins and sea lions. (Please note that whales can only be viewed from July until the beginning of December and penguins can generally be viewed from September to mid-March.) Return to Buenos Aires the following day to connect with your international departing flight. | |||
