A few years ago, we visited the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust’s property, Campi ya Kanzi, in Kenya. While trekking through a nearby cloud forest, we learned that one of our guides had finished the NYC Marathon within two minutes of one of our travel companions! Naturally, we went for a run in solidarity along the Chyulu Hills’s dirt roads to celebrate! Absolute and MWCT will run in solidarity once again—but this time it will be through the streets of Absolute’s hometown. On November 2nd, eight of us will cover a total of 210 miles to raise $40,000 for MWCT during the 2014 NYC Marathon.
Celebrate with Us September 24!
As we near race day, we’re raising our glasses to the Absolute Travel Marathon Team at Ella Lounge in the East Village on Wednesday, September 24! Specialty snacks catered by Boulton & Watt, DJ Ricky Tempo spinning tunes, and an unbelievable raffle will make for a can’t miss evening. This will be a fantastic opportunity to meet Absolute’s newest members and to catch-up with the entire Absolute community. Eat, drink, and be merry knowing that a portion of the proceeds from the evening’s raffle and drinks will go towards our goal of raising $40,000 for the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust! (No cost for just showing up! Cash only bar.)
Our luxury raffle will include lust-worthy items from hotel stays to yoga passes generously provided by friends of Absolute.
